About Outchester:
All that remains on the original 12th Century site of Outchester
is the tower known as The Ducket which may once have been a windmill
but was last used as a dovecote.
The waters of the Waren Burn, which run through the farm, were used
to drive a water wheel at Spindlestone Mill, and also at Waren Mill
on the edge of Budle Bay, where the produce was loaded into sailing
ships. Now it is a late spring haven for Shelduck and Eider.
"What
a lovely holiday we have had, brought 4 teenagers with us and they
have loved it.
I'm sure we will be back again.
The accommodation was so much nicer than we expected.
Don't want to go home."

"It's
really nice here, you could live in it.
I love the water feature and the playground is fun, even though I'm
eleven.
Thanks for a great stay." Oystershell
