Outchester & Ross Farm Holiday Cottages offer a choice of seventeen superb self-catering holiday homes near Bamburgh and Holy Island in Northumberland. Here is a selection of comments taken from our guest books. - Christmas at Wagtail was a first away from home and we thoroughly enjoyed it - we even had snow ! Despite the weather we were warm & snug,and managed several walks to the beach.
- The peace and beauty of these surroundings was everything we were looking for - and more! Many thanks for the welcome and for proving that nothing was too much trouble - truly Northern hospitality at its best.
- What an amazing place - we have never stayed anywhere like it. The sight of the birds wheeling around the tower was fascinating. We came to celebrate an anniversary and it will be difficult to do anything as exciting again!
- An outstanding cottage which far exceeded our expectations! We have lived in luxury all week.
- What a wonderful place to recharge our ageing batteries. The cottage was so comfortable and the garden so pleasant, especially when sitting out with a good bottle of wine. We really loved the cottage with its space and standard of equipment.
- There's so much to see and do. Do try and take a few minutes to just stand still and appreciate the beautiful views and the stillness around the cottage and farm - we've found it really therapeutic!
- We all love the cottage and want a house just like it! My little boy Harry loved the sheep in the surrounding fields. We've had a lovely week in this outstanding cottage. A perfect home away from home!
- Oystershell is perfect accommodation and very well thought out. It's just the place to relax, unwind and enjoy! The water feature is beautiful and enhances the setting of the cottage.
- Great week, plenty of space, plenty of kitchen equipment to keep our chef happy, lots of TVs to keep kids happy and squabble free. All in all we all had a perfect Christmas.
- We have had a super two weeks at Wagtail Cottage. It was all us city slickers wanted it to be. There is so much to see in this area.
- Ross Back Sands beach is spell-binding. Perfect sandcastle, kite-flying and even paddling weather. Combined with the fabulous comforts of Oystercatcher cottage - a true home from home - it has been perfect for all. What a week! What a treat - perfect location!
- This has been our second Christmas at Coastguard Lodge. This year we've had snow for most of the time. Everything is very beautiful with magnificent wintry skies. We've had lots of fun tobogganing down the sand dunes on plastic bags and skating on the flooded fields. Coastguard Lodge has been warm and comfortable.
- Our second visit to Northumberland, our first to Outchester. We were astounded by the high quality of the cottages. Even though each cottage was full it was exceptionally tranquil.
- The cottage is absolutely first class with a lovely location and one leaves wanting for nothing.
- Having spent the last 46 years of holidays in cottages all over the UK and France, we rate Kittiwake one of the very best. We enjoyed the company of a hare on a regular basis, a pair of partridge and some sheep and lambs in the field next door.
- This year we've taken an extra week in 'our' cottage. It really feels this delightful cottage belongs to us, but others must feel the same. We took a walk before bed on a clear night and saw three shooting-
stars - no light pollution here! - Our fifth time here! Super cottage, very cosy, comfortable and well equipped in a beautiful setting, and so peaceful. We have stayed in self-catering cottages the length and breadth of the British Isles and this is undoubtedly the finest!
- First time at Skylark Cottage, but fourth time at Ross. As ever, immaculate accommodation not lacking anything. Once again, Ross Farm gave us an incredibly comfortable holiday home. Spacious, bright and cheerful with comfortable beds, comfortable pillows and comfortable sofas. Loved the countryside, wonderful beaches and magical castles on every corner.
