Most days were crisp, sun filled and cold ! Veterans of many, many self-catering stays The Ducket scored a FIRST with the only oyster knife we've ever found. It is so good to find serious cooking utensils - we ate in every meal except one. The Ducket has set a standard we would be surprised to see bettered. |

Our second visit to the area but first in Curlew - what a great cottage - home from home, everything we needed after a day out was here. Coop at Belford had most things we needed but used Sainsbury's at Alnwick when we were out that way. Up to this year we thought Bamburgh was the best beach but this afternoon we went to Ross Sands - WOW! You walk about a mile through grazing sheep & cows, sand dunes & then get to the beach - three miles of white sand, Bamburgh Castle rising to the right, Holy Island to the left - half a dozen people. We've had a great week and will recommend Curlew Cottage to all. |

One week of relaxing again in Eiderduck Cottage! Still an ideal holiday haunt and magical surroundings. We managed to do all of our usual coastal/beach walks, so we reluctantly go home quite satisfied that we have enjoyed all the area and cottage has to offer - Thanks! We will return. |

This was our first visit to the area and we were very impressed with everything that the county had to offer. The accommodation, Dovecot Cottage, was perfect, the people friendly and the weather amazing for the time of year. We enjoyed coastal walks, visits to historic sites and generally exploring the area. We hope to return again. |

What can we add to all the superlatives that have already been expressed ? The Ducket has exceeded all our expectations - not to mention the unexpected such as deer and pheasant in the fields and ten swans flying overhead !! We came to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and it has certainly been special. Have already started spreading the word about The Ducket and stunning surrounding area. |
